Anna Stuewe
My path in yoga started while completing my BA. I finished with an advanced major in Religion, looking mainly at Buddhism and Hinduism.

I was drawn to the calm minds of the self-reflecting yogis and the compassion infused within them.

I started taking yoga classes, but it was my personal yoga practice that fuelled my drive to go deeper into yoga.

Along with my own yoga and meditation practice, I completed Level I: The Art of Being Human through The Shambhala Buddhist Meditation center in Halifax.

After University, I left Canada for about 3 years and traveled around the world, residing mainly in South Korea. During my time there I had the opportunity to stay in some temples with monks and nuns, who’s way of life and wisdom touched me deeply.

My travels eventually lead me to India, where I completed a 250 hour, one-month, intensive teacher training course in the Yoga Vidya Dham ashram. My training included practical training in asanas, pranayama, mudra, bandhas, cleansing processes, and meditation.

I have just recently returned to Canada and will going back to school September 2009, to study nursing at Dalhousie University.

My yoga classes at the Yoga Loft will be for those who are beginning in yoga; they will be slow paced and relaxing. I will focus on a step by step process, to develop each student's own practice of self-reflection and personal growth.
