Jessica Lodu
Jes received her Physiotherapy degree from McGill University in Montreal in 2003. She then worked in the Trauma and Burns Unit at St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto for three years before moving to Nova Scotia.

Since 2007 she has been practicing orthopaedics at CBI Rehabilitation in Bedford. In both settings, Jes realized that physical pain was not the only barrier to recovery. As a result, she began to explore yoga as an additional treatment option.

Initially, she jumped into an intense, physical practice with little knowledge of proper technique, which led to injury. This experience and her health care background, led her to look closely at postural alignment from a physiotherapy perspective so that she could help others correct their alignment in order to prevent injury.

Jes completed her 200-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training with Jody Myers and Silver Frith 2008. This experience enriched her yoga practice spiritually, by helping her integrate asana, pranayama, and meditation. She fuses these techniques, with her knowledge of the working of the human body, into her teaching.
